At Nature’s Edge, we believe some of the most important childhood skills are built through movement, play, relationships, challenge, exploration, and time outdoors.
Our Fall Outdoor Groups are intentionally small and designed to give children meaningful opportunities to develop confidence, social skills, executive functioning, sensory regulation, coordination, independence, and joy.
All programs are created and led by a pediatric occupational therapist with more than 20 years of experience.

Nature Explorers
Preschool Enrichment Program
Ages 4-6*
Mondays, 9:30 - 11:00 AM
Sycamore Park, Batavia
September 14 - November 16
School readiness is about much more than letters and numbers.
Nature Explorers gives young children opportunities to practice the foundational skills they need for preschool, kindergarten, and everyday life through nature-based movement, exploration, creativity, and play.
Children will work on social interaction, cooperative play, confidence, fine motor development, sensory exploration, coordination, creativity, and independence.
10-week tuition: $550
Early registration: $500 (signed up by Sept. 8, 2026)
(Intial payment of $200 due at registration, remaining balance due Oct. 1 and Nov. 1)
Group size: Minimum 3, Maximum 8 children
Beyond the Trail
Nature Based Occupational Therapy Program
Ages 7-11*
Tuesdays, 4:30 - 6:00 PM
East Fork State Park, Bethel
September 15 - November 17
Beyond the Trail is a small, individualized occupational therapy group for children who need additional support navigating the demands of everyday life. Outdoor adventures and cooperative challenges are used as the setting for skilled OT intervention targeting areas such as social participation, executive functioning, sensory regulation, confidence, coordination, flexibility, problem-solving, and independence.
Each participant must complete an initial occupational therapy evaluation before beginning so individualized treatment goals can be established.
10-week tuition: $1,000
Private pay only
Group Size: Minimum 3, Maximum 5 participants
Trailblazers
Homeschool Outdoor Enrichment Group
Ages 6–10*
Fridays, 10:00 AM–12:00 PM
Cincinnati Nature Center
September 18–November 20
Trailblazers gives school-aged children two uninterrupted hours to move, explore, collaborate, problem-solve, and build relationships in nature.
Activities are designed to strengthen social skills, executive functioning, sensory regulation, teamwork, confidence, flexible thinking, independence, and resilience through outdoor adventure and cooperative play.
Group enrollment includes admission to the park during group times, thanks to the CNC in granting us a Community 1 Membership this year!
10-week tuition: $750
Early registration: $700 (Sign up completed by Sept. 8, 2026)

Enrichment vs. Occupational Therapy
Nature Explorers and Trailblazers are enrichment programs informed by occupational therapy principles but do not include individualized evaluation or treatment.
Beyond the Trail is a private-pay occupational therapy service and includes individualized evaluation, treatment goals, skilled intervention, and clinical documentation.

Flexible scheduling available
Individualized 1:1 evaluations and treatment sessions to address your child's specific needs. Each child is different and we specialize in making sure that your child's sessions are designed just for them! We will set goals together, based on the evaluation results and the family consultation. Sessions may address concerns at home, in the community, sports, at school, extra IEP goal support, you name it... we're here to help. *Parent consultations also available.
